Brief Description:  Install Overhead Lighting

1400 - 1600 1800 - 1900

Continue with overhead lighting.

I decided to remove the large fuse block from the overhead. There will be only non-essential lighting there and the entire circuit is protected by the VPX. This simplifies the wiring and removes the need to open a panel to change a fuse. I then installed the original two circuit bus bar to provide 12v and ground to the overhead.

I then decided to install a small fuse block near the batteries for the baggage and dome light circuits. These two circuits will always be powered and the fuses offer circuit protection. The small fuse block was installed on the electrical tray aft of the baggage bulkhead. Power was provided from an always powered side of the Aux DC contactor. As the two LED puck lights in each circuit draw 500 ma, I plan on fusing them at 1 amp, which is the smallest ATO fuse I can find. The baggage lights were then connected.

Next, I installed several tie wrap mounts to the aft baggage bulkhead using E-6000 adhesive. I then routed a single 20 AWG wire in the console conduit from the forward access panel to the hot battery fuse block. Once the adhesive is cured, the wire will be connected and secured to the mounts.
