Brief Description:  Install EFII System 32 Harness

1500 - 1830

Continue to install system 32 harness.

I needed to relocate the MAP sensors to the engine side of the firewall to comply with the harness. This was accomplished using standard techniques.

Next, I fabricated a manifold pressure distribution block. I used the block that I had previously made, as a base. I then drilled and tapped a 4th side to accept a 1/8" NPT barbed fitting. Doing this simplified them plumbing and eliminated a Tee fitting. The barbed fittings were installed using Loctite 567 sealant. The MAP sensor for the GEA24 was also installed using Loctite 567.

The distribution block was fatened to the firewall with an AN3 bolt and backed with a large diameter washer and metal locknut.

All parts of the EFII sytem are now positioned. The next task was to determine the correct lengths for the individual harnesses. This took some time as optimum routing needed to be determined. The original harness was used as a guide, marked for length, and then measured.

The following are the results. All measurements are from the connector face or flange to the tip of the metripack connector.

ECU Harness
---------------------
Add 1.5" to ECU wiring. Total length 19.5"
Add 40" to all bare end wires. Total length 58"
Add 30" to controller pigtail. Total length 48"

White Dot Connector
---------------------------------
MAP 1 17"
MAP 2 16"

Crank Trigger 1 22"
Crank Trigger 2 22"

Coil A 20"
Coil B 11"
Coil C 15.5"

Red Dot Connector
-------------------------------
Engine Temp Sensor 21.5"
Throttle Position 45"
Intake Air Temp 1 & 2 57"
Injectors 1-3-5 54" (stock)
Injectors 2-4-6 90"

I am passing these numbers to Robert so he can make a new harness.
