Dad and Jeff worked on pitot mast, trimming and fitting mast bracket to QB wing and skin. Parts were clamped, clecoed, drilled as necessary. Once fitting was complete, parts were deburred and smoothed.
Primed pitot mast parts.
Cleco parts together and rivet per Gretz instructions.
Temporarily install bottom wing skin to verify fit with pitot mast.
During this time I worked on the stall warning. All brackets were deburred and smoothed with s/b wheel.
Prime all brackets.
Assemble stall warning sub assembly per plans, section 19-3.1>4
Platenuts were installed on applicable rib. Unfortunately, they were installed on the wrong side of the rib. Rivets were drilled out and platenuts were installed on opposite side of rib. Due to the lack of access to the stall warning area, riveting the platenuts was problematic, ending with a dimple in the rib. Trying to install the phillips head screws that hold the stall warning sub assembly was frustrating. The crew heads were stripping under the force of screwing into the retentive platenuts.
