Brief Description:  Rivet Rudder Structure and Trailing Edge

1340 - 1452

Prepared all mating sufaces of trailing edge. Scuffed lightly with s/b. Cleaned just prior to Pro Seal application with acetone, wearing nitrile gloves.

Mixed proseal per directions, 10:100. Placed in a syringe. Applied a small bead to the trailing edge, and smoothed with a craft stick.

Clecoed trailing edge wedge at stiffener locations, from bottom.

Applied a bead of proseal on other side of trailing edge wedge and smoothed with craft stick.

Clecoed left rudder skin to lower rudder rib and bottom hole of trailing edge.

Kyle held skin while I riveted the aft stiffener ends and shear clips per plans, verifying proper locations.

Got to the top stiffener, riveted the end, then realized the shear clip was not in the right place. Had to derill out rivet to relocate shear clip.

Clecoed every hole in trailing edge, using the second VA-140 wedge as a clamp, and a piece of heavy AL angle as a flat surface.

Riveted bottom rib to skin.

Placed board and weights on trailing edge to keep flat.
