Brief Description:  Install Glareshield Cover

1530 - 1730

Today I checked the brake fittings for leaks. The master cylinder fitting that has been causing issues is STILL leaking. I will be calling Matco Monday mornig for a new master cylinder. I have no other options, I have swapped fittings, used the recommended sealant, and tightened the fitting as far as it can be tightened. There has to be a flaw in the threads of the master cylinder.

I moved on to installing the glareshield cove that Abby at flightline interiors made...It is a beautiful piece of work...but it is too short. It will not butt flush with the instrument panel, wrap around the edge gaurd and extend to the base of the windshield. I will be calling her on Monday morning to see what can be done. In the meantime, I decided to install the velco to the underside of the glareshield. The location is fixed; it must be flush with the face of the instrument panel. I accomplished this by installing the edge guard first. Next, the cover was positioned. Starting in the center, sections of the self adhesive velcro were exposed. A few inches at a time, the cover was positioned flush with the instrument panel and the velcro adhesive was then attached to the aluminum glareshield. The instruction note that the adhesive needs 24 hours to set, so I will remove the cover tomorrow. It appears that about 1/2" needs to be added to the instrument panel side of the cover, and possibly another 1/2" to the windshield edge.
