Today I completed the control stick grip wiring, transponder antenna wiring, and com antenna wiring.
The copilot control stick wiring was completed as detaile previously for the pilot side wiring. All wires and mounts are a mirror image of the pilot side wiring.
Complete transponder antenna wiring using a BNC 90 degree fitting. This facilitates more than adequate wire clearance during full range of stick motion. A short length of conduit was installed to prevent any possible chafing and to provide a secure route for the cable.
Next, I installed the Com 1 and Com 2 antennas. The center hole for the BNC connector was enlarged to final size and deburred.
The antenna was mounted using 2 AN509-8R10 screws. The RG400 cable length was determined and a BNC connector was installed using standard techniques. A length of double wall heat shrink was installed to provide strain relief.
The antenna cable was then connected to the antenna and fit verified.
All steps were then accomplished for the Com 2 radio antenna.
The Com antennas were then removed to prevent damage.
