Brief Description:  Install Instrument Panel

1530 - 1818

This session was used to install the Pilot control stick wiring.

First, the stick was temporarily installed. The wire routing was then finalized. I tried several iterations and settled on this one. The issue is that the wires are required to move with the stick, yet need to be secure and not strain the DB9 cable connector.

The final routing utilizes the landing gear mount as a support for the connector, which isheld to the mount with 3M Industrial Unisex Fastener strips (Industrial plastic velcro). Several tie wrap mounts were also used to secure the wire. To facilitate motion of the wire with the stick, a 270 degree service loop was included. This loop allows free movement of the wiring without putting any strain on the connectors.

Execution of the wirng was competed using standard techniques for terminating wiring with D-Sub connectors.

The control stick was then moved through it's entire range of motion to verify wire installation.
