This involved attaching the scat tubing to the fresh air NACA vents. This proved to be somewhat of a challenge as there is not much room to work.
I also decided to install screens to prevent bugs in the cabin. Several methods were considered, however, the simplest method seemed to work the best. A 3 1/2 inch circle of woven stainless cloth was cut from the sheet. It was then formed around a 2" pipe cap. Next, the screen was installed over the NACA vent tube. The SCAT tubing was then pushed over the screen and vent tube. The SCAT was secured with a breese clamp. This method allows for replacement of the screen, if necessary, and requires no extra fabrication. The screen is effectively trapped between the fiberglass vent tube and the SCAT tubing.
Installing the front screens was more challenging due to lack of workspace and a very short SCAT tube but the task was accomplished.
The screens wil prevent insects from getting into the cabin area and possibly surprising the pilot...think wasps...
