Today I worked on finishing the bus manager control wiring. It would have been very easy to just splice the harness wires to the bus manager wires but I decided not to do this. Instead, I rewired the Molex 14 pin connector using the main wiring harness wires...so no splices.

Each of the wires were routed and cut to length. The correct Molex sockets were then installed on the wires and crimped as well as soldered.

As the EFII controller requires inputs from the bus manager control connector for primary and secondary battery voltage, it was necessary to install this part of the harness. The DB-15 connector comes pre-wired for the fuel pump inputs, battery inputs, and O2 sensor input. Unfortunately, a few of the wires were of insufficient length for the preferred routing. The solution was to rewire the connector using appropriate lengths of wire. Opening the backshell, it was discovered that the DB-15 connector was a solder cup type. I decided to re4place it with a solid crimped pin connector. This did not take long, as I have the proper tools to accomplish the task. The connector was then reassembled, and the wiring routed in the aircraft. The required wires were prepared and Molex sockets installed.

With all of the control wires in place, the new Molex 14 pin connector was assembled and wire position verified. The connector was then installed in the bus manager.

The next task was to install the CF panel. I installed it and then realized that the fresh air vents were not sufficiently tightened. I removed the panel and tightend the vent nut on both sides. I then used a small amount of E6000 adhesive to secure the nut and prevent rotation of the vent.

I also realized that the SCAT tubing to connect the vents to the NACA inlets needs to be attached prior to panel installation. I will need to source some SCAT tubing and clamps to complete this task.

I then cut to length the all plastic vent tube for the aft NACA inlets to the vent valve. I will need to source some clamps to secure it.
