Door Hinge Pocket Covers
1418 - 1554 1836 - 2000
Sand all covers and fillets to final contour using sander and s/p.
Apply final coat of epoxy/micro to fill remainig low areas.
The Bansbach gas struts arrived. Look good except the machined end was 10 mm thick and the drilled hole, 8.2 mm.
Using the Smithy, I machined the thickness of the two rod ends to .375, which is the correct thickness for the billet brackets.
Using drill press, I enlarged the 8.2 mm hole to .375 to facilitate the use of an aluminum bushing.
Fabricated two aluminum bushings to fit the ends from .375 thickwalled tubing. The tubing ID is appropriate for an AN4 bolt.
