Position console in cabin top while cabin top installed on fuselage, center and clamp ensuring aft end of console flush with baggage area bulkhead. The flange of the console needed to be removed at the cabin top joggle.
Drill and cleco two holes in aft flanges of the console. These clecos will locate the aft console center and for/aft position.
Remove clecos from cabin top flanges.
Remove clecos from tailcone top skin.
Remove cabin top.
Using belt sander and permagrit tools, smooth high areas of cabin top to facilitate fit of the console.
Once the console would lay flat, the console flange and cabin top were match drilled and clecoed. Care was taken to only drill through the inside surface of the cabin top. Holes were drilled and clecoed from the aft to the front, alternating sides and verifying that the console remianed centered.
