Brief Description:  Install Elevator Tips

1530 - 1736

Verify depth of elevator tip flange was 1/2". Both tips were very close to the nominal value.

Using permagrit file, square the flange shoulder per plans.

Remove small square of flange along TE of tip to provide clearance for the elevator TE wedge.

Smooth edges and radius corners using permagrit tools.

Insert tip in elevator and ensure tip fully forward.

Match drill tip flanges to elevator skins using #40 drill, cleco as drilled. Ensure flange shoulder tight against elevator skin.

Verify TE of fiberglass tip is even with elevator TE. File and smooth tip to match elevator using permagrit tools.

Repeat for other side.
