Today I worked on the Aerosport engine mount covers. Although, I am impressed with the finish of the product, it's fit is another story. The cover really needed to be slightly larger in diameter. The holes pre punched in the #5 and #6 baffle for the engine mount are not round. As such, it was quite a challenge to position the cover in such a way that it did not interfer with the mount yet have enough edge clearance on the hole to drill the flange for attachment screws. a simple solution would be to manufacture the cover with a wider flange...
In the end, I decided to fabricate a flange doubler that will extend the flange another 3/8" from aluminum sheet.
I will also call Aerosprt tomorrow and speak with them about it.
