Brief Description:  Misc Wiring

1500 - 1730

The new bushings arrived for the stick grip.

The DB9 connectors were unpinned.

Old bushings were removed and the new angled bushings installed.

The wiring was then passed through the stick tubing and the DB9 connector was reassembled.

Both stick were then plugged in and an operational check was made. All switches function normally.

Sticks were then temporarily installed.

Next, I spent some time configuring the VPX.

The first thing addressed was the aileron trim indicator. It was reversed and there was no center point. This was easily rectified using the configuration tool on the computer.

The next issue was the center point of the elevator trim. Due to vans elevator trim mixer, the neutral elevator point is not the midpoint of the servo travel. Again, this was easily fixed using the computer.

Next, the flap position limits were set. Positions for 0 degrees, 15 degrees and full flap endpoints were set.

The configuration was then updated in the VPX and the VPX restarted. All indicators are now functioning properly.

The next task was to install Deutsch connector on the seat heater wiring. The schematic was referenced to insure correct wiring, and 2 two pin connector were installed. Unfortunately, the wiring for the bottom cushion was too short. I did not have the necessary tools to lengthen it at the hangar.

I connected the seat wiring to the aircraft wiring and powered the seat heater. After a short time, the seat heaters were verified working.
