Brief Description:  Root Fairing, Pitot, Elevator Trim, Seat Adjuster

1300 - 1400 1600 - 1800

Removed the seat adjustment assembly from the seat base. Holes in the assembly were drilled and tapped for AN4 bolts. Holes in seat base were enlarged for AN4 bolts. This mod was previously detailed.

The Aerosport seat adjustment levers were then installed.

Next, I used the extra tank ribs that I ordered to fabricate a riblet. This riblet will be riveted in place on the lower wing root fairing and will maintain the shape of the wing at the unsupported side. I felt this was required as the taxi light hole removed a portion of the leading edge curve in the fairing causing a change in shape when the fairing was installed. This distortion is eliminated with the use of the riblet.

The original rib was modified to fit and the fairing was match drilled to the riblet. Clecos were used as the holes were drilled.

The lower faing was then taken to the hangar to verify fit. Some minor modifications are necessary and will be completed tomorrow. Overall, it fit well.

Next, I completed the pitot install by installing the final connector on the warning discrete wire. The tubing was tie wrapped in place, and the control unit connected.

The pitot inspection plate was then installed with #8 SS Torx screws.

Today's last task was to adjust the elevator trim cable mounts. The issue was that the cable supports were placed in the middle of the threaded portion. In order to get the recommended 35 degree down tab, the clevis fork had to be threaded completely in, leaving no adjustment. The solution was to remove the cable support plates and adjust the mounttoward the aft end of the threads. The mount/plate assembly was then reinstalled and the clevis fork adjusted to it's midpoint. Small adjustments are now possible using the clevis forks.
