Torqued AN9 wing spar bolts to specified value. I added an AN960-916 washer to each bolt in order to prevent the nut from bottoming on the threads. It appears that I will need to add an AN960-616L to each of the smaller bolts for the same reason.
Worked on the elevator down stop. Using a digital level, I was able to find the 20 degree down position. This position, coupled with a 5 degree bushing from Tosten, will allow clearance between the stick grip and the instrument panel. I fabricated a new stop but it will need to be shortened about an 1/8".
Added tail light ground wire to the airframe by using a rudder stop retaining bolt. The rudder cap was clecoed in position.
Rudder post bolts were verified for proper torque.
I powered the avionics to run the flaps and found that I had a Hardware Fault on the G5. A quick call to Garmin and some thought produced the reason for the fault. I had put plugs in the pitot tube fittings to prevent bugs from entering. I removed the plugs but still had the fault. Then I realized that we had taped the static ports. Re4moved the tape and the fault was gone...
I fabricated a new taxi light mount to test. The test was successful so I will fabricate the second one. Looks like it will work great.
