Installed the seat rails today. Two of the rails did not need shims; the other two were shimmed. This required several installations and removals to facilitate the smoothest slide of the seat base.
The seat base slides were modified by removing about 5/8" of the forward part of each slide and cutting the remainder on a 45 degree bias. This allows the seats to be easily removed without removal of the flap torque tube covers. As Aerosport currently is using one seat base for design work, only one base was modified.
The seat lock handle assembly was also modified to facilitate ease of seat removal. I drilled and tapped the assembly for 1/4-28 bolts. The holes in the seat frame were enlarged to provide necessary clearance for the AN4 hardware. This mod allows the removal of the T handle assembly by removing the seat cushion and four bolts.
The seat base was tested on each side for satisfactory operation.
Next, the flap torque tube covers were dimpled ans installed using specified hardware.
