Brief Description:  Install Stick Grip Wiring

1730 - 2024

Today I comleted the stick grip wiring. I routed a 20 awg wire from the hot battery fuse block, forward to the area under the right seat.

The two switches available on the stick would likely be used to power an accessory of some kind, so I decided to wire two NO relays. When the switch is activated a ground is provided to the relay coil, closing the accessory contact. The minimal current required to activate the relay coil is well within the limits of the stick grip switch.

I decided to mount two relays, as it is far easier now than later. In the event I want to add another accessory to the unused relay, it requires installing only one wire.

I then fabricated a bracket to support the relays. Standard techniques were used.

The bracket was secured to the forward seat base using AN3 bolts.

The relays were then attached to the bracket.

The relay plugs were then populated with 1/4" receptacles as detailed in previous sessions. The receptacles were crimped and soldered.

Once the wiring was complete, wires were grouped and bundled, secured with tie wraps.

The system was powered and operation verified.

Next, I removed the right GDU and programmed the timer relays for the aux fuel pumps to 25 minutes. This will be refined once fuel is added to the system. The GDU was then reinstalled.
