Brief Description:  Remove and Replace Kavlico Fuel Pressure Sensor

1900 - 2136

Due to issue with leaking fuel pressure sensors supplied with the Garmin system, a service bulletin was issued. As I am not flying yet, I decided to replace the sensor now instead of later.

The new sensor that Garmin recommended is the 01-04202-20 TSO'd 75 PSIG unit.

Remove the fuel pump pack from the tunnel. This required removing the wiring from the pumps. As these wires do not have much of a service loop, I decided to add a Deutsch DT connector to the wiring to simplify removal of the pump pack. This connector was added to the tunnel wiring and a pigtail was added to the pump pack.

Remove and replace the sensor. New sensor installed with Loctitie 567.

Pressure tested the pump pack to 75 PSI and applied leak check fluid. No leaks were noted.

Install pump pack in tunnel. Attach fuel lines.

Configure G#X for the 75 PSIG sensor.

Test operation of the fuel pumps. The bus manager need sto be calibrated because the primary pump will not run continuously. Obviously there is no pressure in the system so it automatically switches to the secondary pump...it's normal function. The primary pump will start so wiring appears to be correct.
