Brief Description:  Heat Valve Controllers

1800 - 2118

Installed new heat valve controllers.

Today I assembled the wiring for the new controllers.

The Linear Actuator Control boards wer wired and powered up. The retract and extend limits were set for each valve using the onboard pots. The speed and accuracy were also set. I am running the actuators at full speed and the accuracy was reduced a very small amount to prevent the actuator from hunting.

All wiring was tested.

Next, I terminated the new wiring in the overhead with a 6 pin Deutsch connector. The mating connector was installed on the previously wired control pot proto board. Wiring as follows:

Forward Valve

Orange - P+ (pos)

Green - Wiper

Blue - P- (neg)

Aft Valve

White/Orange - P+ (pos)

White/Green - Wiper

White/Blue - P- (neg)

As it urned out, I needed to invert the P+ and P- wires at the LAC board in order to match the actuator movement with the correct knob rotation.

I then added a 6 pin connector to the aft vent controller. This controller will require +12v and a ground at the controller. I used fan power from the fan controller and connected the aft vent controller to the fan power using jumper wires. This should not be an issue as the fans and vent controller do not use much current and are intermittent in operation.
