Temporarily install control stick and verify length required for stick grips.
Control stick top tube was then cut to length to accomodate the grip. This measurement was 1 3/16" measured from the forward edge og the vertical tube. This measurement allows the stick grip to be located in the same relative space of the vertical tube that was removed.
Next, the stick bushing was fit. Some grinding was required. Once a satisfactory fit was attained, a hole was drilled to match the threaded hole in the bushing. This will allow the bushing to be mechanically retained, and allow adjustment of the grip clocking.
The tubes were deburred and cleaned. A thin layer of corrosionX was swabbed on the inside of the tube. Painting was not an option due to the thickness of the paint and lack of clearance with the bushing.
