After speaking with the local DAR, I decided to install the antenna on the top of the tailcone, as recommended in the manufacturers instructions.
A doubler was fabricated using 063 sheet using standard techniques. All holes were then match drilled to the top tailcone skin.
Debur all holes, machine c-sink the doubler as required.
Dimple tailcone skin for flush rivets.
Cleco and then rivet the doubelr in position.
Install recommended antenna.
Next, RG400 was routed from the ELT to the antenna. BNC male connectors were installed, and the RG400 was secured using tie wraps and mounts.
I decided to install the ELT Sonalert. This beeper sounds when the ELT has been activated. This required disassembly of the DB15 connector and the addition of one wire at pin 8. The backshell was then reassembled.
Wiring for the beeper was routed.
Next I terminated the elevator trim motor wiring with Deutsch connectors, connecting it to the GSA28 wiring. Standard techniques were used.
The trim motor wiring was then routed and secured.
