Brief Description:  Install Instrument Panel

1515 - 1824

Continue instrument panel install.

First thing today I replaced all of the plain SS screws securing the overhead panel console inserts with Black SS Torx screws. While the crews were removed, I c
verified the anteenna leads and labeled them accordingly.

They are as follows:

GTN650 ---> GA35, Com 1, VOR/ILS/GS
GDU PFD ---> GA57X GPS
GDU MFD ---> GA26C
G5 ---> GA26C
GDL51R ---> GA57X SXM
GTR-20 ---> Com 2

Next, I worked on the Actuonix Control Board for the rudder trim. The actuator contains an internal position pot, and will be controlled from an external pot. I installed wiring for the external pot at positions P-, VC, and P+. These wires were bundled and covered with techflex. A three pin Deutsch connector was installed on these wires.

The four remaining wires were bundled and covered with techflex. A four pin Deutsch connector was installed on these wires to include 12V power, power ground, Wiper voltage (Pin P), and wiper ground. The control board internally provides 0-3 volts on Pin P to be used for position indication.

The wires were routed through the control board case, and the case ends secured to the case per the instructions. I secured the case to the L shaped shelf using 3M Extreme Fastener.

The O2 sensor amplifier was worked on next. The intent was to desolder the power plug from the PCB and replace it with soldered wires, however, upon further inspection this would have been problematic. The solution was to utilize the power plug. The wires were bundled and covered with techflex. The power plug was then inserted into it's receptacle and secured with E6000 adhesive (Shoe Goo). It is removable should it become necessary but will not be able to disconnect under vibration.

The amplifier was them secured to the L shelf using 3M Extreme Fastener.
