Brief Description: Overhead Console Wiring, Sand and Seal Cowling
1500 - 1900
Continue with cowling sand and seal. I tried adding some white colorant to the epoxy on the upper inside surface of the cowling. Apparently, the skim coat is too thin and the colorant did next to nothing. It did, however, affect the curing of the resin, which required sanding to remove the uncured areas. This was accomplished and another skim coat of raw epoxy was applied.
The majority of today was spent wiring the over console panels. It is coming together nicely. I decided to install removable connectors between the two panels so that in the event one panel needs to be removed, the other does not. It is taking a bit more time now but should save time later. Tomorrow, I will install the last connectors and hopefully install the panels...
