Brief Description:  Install Overhead Console Lighting

1600 - 1800

Continue work on overhead lighting.

Finalized wiring for overhead lights. This involved locating the four current limiters for the eyeball LEDs and the 4 channel PWM dimmer board for eyeball light control. The solution was to fabricate a simple U channel from 032 sheet. The PWM board was mounted, using nylon standoffs, to the center of the channel. The current limters were mounted back to back on the channel flanges. This arrangement simplified wire routing and facilitated a mounting platform that will be attached to the overhead panel.

Next, the holes for the eyeball lights, pushbutton switch, and dome light were cut using appropriate hole saws...1 1/8", 7/8", and 55 mm. All holes were deburred and smoothed.

The holes for the dimmer pots were then drilled and deburred.

Lights and switches were temporarily installed to verify fit.

I am planning on using either a carbon fiber vinyl wrap or CF veneer for the face of the overhead panels.
