Install firewll power pass through for Aux alternator. Two doublers were fabricated for the pass through. One was made from 025 SS, the other from 125 aluminum. The SS doubler was installed on the engine side of the firewall, the aluminum one on the cabin side. Pass through was secured with SS hardware. Standard techniques were used for fabrication and mounting.
I noticed substantial oil canning of the firewall panels in the upper fuselage firewall section. I decided to fabricate two aluminum angles and rivet them oriented on a 45 degree angle to the cabin side of the firewall. Standard techniques were used. The angles were fabricated from 2024 aluminum, match drilled to the firewall and riveted with Avdel SS Aviation grade rivets with SS washers. This stiffener greatly reduced the oil canning of the firewall panel.
