Today I fabricated a rack shelf for the new ECU position. Standard techniques were used. I used 2024 032 sheet for the shelf and side flanges were included to increase the rigidity.
I am deciding which orientation to use for the ECUs. Each has it's advantages. Longitudinal mounting allows the wire bundles to exit the ECU in a straight line, however, getting to the plugs is more difficult.
Lateral mounting makes accessing the plugs very easy, however, the wires exiting the plugs will need to make a 90 turn.
