Brief Description:  Install Reduced Diameter SCAT Duct

1600 - 1706

I sized and installed the 2" SCAT duct for the right side heat bypass valve.

Install Cable end "B" nuts on the heat duct bypass valve control arms. These ends will allow attachment of solid wire control cables used to operate the bypass valves.

Next, I decided to use a reduced diameter (1 1/2") SCAT duct for the aft heat supply. This reduced diameter duct will allow for more than adequate clearance between the duct and fuel selector valve extension. Using the stock 2" duct caused interference with the extension. Another benefit to the reduced diameter duct was that it provided more clearance where it passes over the spar flange. The 2" duct fit but required compression by the tunnel cover; the 1 1/2" duct has no interference in this area.

Cut the 2" SCAT forward of the fuel selector.

Install 2" x 1 1/2" duct reducer and secure with hose clamp.

Cut the 2" SCAT forward of the 90 degree elbow.

Install duct reducer and secure with hose clamp.

Measure and cut 1 1/2" SCAT to fit between the two reducers. Secure with hose clamps.

Prepare and attach self adhesive tie wrap supports to the side of the tunnel.

Secure the 1 1/2" duct to tie wrap supports with tie wraps.

Verify fit.
