I decided that I did not want a 16" length of power cord tied to the top of the engine for the pre heat system. I decided to use an IEC panel mount jack instead. The idea is that I only need to plug the power cord in when I am preheating but no other time. The jack provides for an extremely clean installation while allowing the preheat system to be easily connected through the oil door in the cowl. I plan to leave the IEC cord stored in the airplane at all times.
Fabricate a small doubler for the panel jack using standard techniques.
Transfer the hole outline to the #6 baffle using the doubler for reference.
Create the needed holes in the baffle to mount the jack using standard techniques.
