Continue trimming cowl side joint. This involved initially trimming the excess bottom cowl with a dremel. I then used a 12" permagrit bar to even the cut.
Install top and bottom cowl with clecos.
Verify fit.
Remove top cowl.
Using permagrit bar, remove bottom cowl edge a small amount.
Install top cowl, verify fit.
Repeat above steps until a nominal 1/32" gap was achieved. This took awhile Leon!
I had intended on using a hinge on the side joints but after looking at it for awhile and observing that the hinge pin would need to be accessed throught the inlet lip or outside of the cowl, I decided to go with the skybolt fasteners. I think it will work great and make future removal of the cowling easy.
Layout and mark skybolt brackets for center and rivet line.
