Brief Description:  Install Wheel Pant Bracket Nut Plates

1648 - 1900

The previously fabricated nut plates were installed on the nose fork.

The original threaded holes were drilled for helicoils and the redrilled to facilitate installation of the Tee nut shank through the fork.

Tee nuts were then ground to be flush with the fork.

Mounting holes were drilled, deburred, and machine c-sunk for flush rivets.

Nut plates were clecoed then riveted using a p-squeezer.

Nose wheel was then reinstalled.

This modification allows the steel bolt to thread into a steel Tee nut and provides agreater surface area for the clampnig load generated by the mounting bolt. As these bolts are used as tow bar load points, the additional area should be beneficial.
