Position plumb bobs in forward and aft positions, using jig previously made, per plans.
Locate ad mark LE of fairing using plumb string as guide.
Measure from floor to LE of fairing and mark per plans.
Wrap string around fairing at LE point and clamp to mark on step indicating plumb line.
Fabricate a center guide from tongue depressor. A 3/32" notch was cut 1/8" deep in the edge of the depressor. Two equally spaced marks were made on the depressor 7/8" to either side of the notch.
The TE of the fairing was inserted in the notched guide then the fairing was rotated to position the two strings equidistant from the center notch using the 7/8" reference marks as a guide. Once the strings were equidistant from the center notch, the fairning was clamped in position.
I purchased aftermarket intersection fairings. Holes were drilled in the flanges of these fairings per plans.
Lower fairing was installed and the wheel pant was match drilled to the fairing while holding the fairing flush with the leg fairing and wheel pant. Holes were clecoed as drilled.
Upper fairng was then installed in the same manner.
