Today was spent working on finishing the hinge pocket covers, third latch mechanism cover, and pin block covers. I was not going to make covers for the pin blocks but after fabricating one, I ended up making them all. These covers will yield a flat surface for the door seal, and should make for a very good seal.
Fabricate third latch mechanism trim cover from scrap door panel material.
Fabricate door pin block covers from door panel scrap.
Rough all bonding surfaces.
Mix and apply epoxy to third latch mechanism covers, clamp in place.
Add micro to remaining epoxy.
Apply epoxy/micro to hinge pocket covers and fillet as required.
I received the Bansbach gas struts for the doors. The only issue so far is the strut ends are about 1/16" too thick for the billet struct brackets. I will need to machine them slightly to fit...
