Brief Description:  02 - Starboard wing root aft fairing

Starboard wing root aft fairing

I joggled the moulding wax first, then roughed the underside of the aft fairing and primed with epoxy resin, then laid up carbon in the joggle area and embedded the aft fairing in that. I pinned the fairing in place with a piece of clamped wood and a cardboard angle wedged in one of the grooves in the cieling of the gararge. I left enough room to raise the aft section by about 1f.5mm as I bed the fairing in a few layers of carbon to widen the flanges.

Later I'll add a plastic separator, then lay up the front fairing over the joggle so everything is match moulded. No doubt some final adjustment with featherlight will be required, but I think it will work out well.
