I traced the shape and linished the ends of the remaining carbon tube for the second chock holder and wedged it in place under the flange. I can't bond this in place until I've cut the corresponding hole in the flange, which I needed to leave in tact for the next step.
I wasn't happy with the match of the second door (which was cast on the other fairing), so I traced the door, cut and smoothed the hole, waxed, then match molded five layers of carbon fibre straight onto the flange (pre-filled around the edge with epoxy and Aerosil). When that sets, I'll linish the outside flush with the fairing, remove the tube and flange and break the part free.
