I fooled around with hinge arm shapes for a couple of hours until I realised that the lip of the cover was on the hinge line ... then then it was a simple case of moving the hinge point forward to create the clearance space I need. I scuffed the CF and mounted two angles as a pivot point. I'll use a 3/16" clevis pin instad of a bolt.
Don't copy the shape of the hinge arm ... it's wrong, but OK for alignment purposes!
