Brief Description:  Starboard canopy handle

Starboard canopy handle

I need to be able lock the canopy shut to finish the windscreen fairing.

To stop the handle spinning on it's shaft, I needed to spot drill the shaft so the grub screws have something to locate into. I tightened the handle just enough to lock the canopy once, then removed the handle, polished the shaft, blue markered it, replaced the handle and locked down the grub screws. This didn't show up as well as planned, so I used a 12" # 30 drill to mark the spot (being careful not to chew out the threaded hole), then removed the handle, auto-centre-punched the mark and spot drilled.

When I locate the other handle (misplaced during my interstate move), I'll do the same on the left side. I shall also double the length of the grub screws ... the threaded hole is half empty and I'm worried about stripping the alloy threads in the handles (which aren't available since SilverBullet seem to be out of business).
