I removed one screw at a time on the starboard side and replaced it with a stainless screw, ground and polished to exact length. I also used the countersink and sanded each dimple smooth to avoid a build up of paint around the screw heads. These screws won't be removed again, so when that was done, I set each screw in place with a small amount of JB Weld to grab the thread in the plastic (which is easily stripped).
I then marked the lower edges for final trimming, removed the canopy and trimmed one side. I temporarily fitted the rear lever pivot block and re-drilled the holes. When that was done, I removed all the tape and carefully scraped away the excess primer along the upper edges of the skirts.
Tomorrow, I'll do the same on the other side before prep'ing for a smooth spray coat of primer.
