I wasn't quite happy with the spacing and alignment of the holes, so I remade them at the other end of the steel bar. I then cut out the shape, drilled a lightening hole, rounded all the edges, primed and Loctite'd the bolts in place. When that's had time to set I'll get the feel for the tool on some scrap ally before tackling the slider skirts.
I recently needed a medical stocking after a leg operation, so I became good at putting stockings on as well as removing them :-) In a bizzarre twist, I now find myself making a skirt forming tool ... it may be made of iron, but lucky it doesn't look like that ... I wouldn't want to become competent with a skirt iron !! Next thing you know I'll be installing curtin rails in the canopy.
