Tonight I plodded along with the canopy track. I made a front bracket for the front half and installed nutplates in the canopy rail, then shaped and milled the ridge down to screw down the aft end of the canopy track. I also trimmed the edge of the rear track. Next I'll do the same on the other side, which should be quicker.
