CamGuard

Thanks very much to Ed 'the oil guru' from CamGuard for our sponsorship arrangement!

I presume most pilots know that short engine runs simply coat the moving parts in moist, corrosive combustion by-products and lead sludge. If you can't run the engine for at least 30 minutes to boil off moisture, or change the oil regularly, the very least you can do is use CamGuard to protect the shiny bits between flights! CamGuard doesn't stop there though. CamGuard is a well respected supplement to minimise cam lobe and lifter wear, particularly in Lyconosour engines where the camshaft is suspended above the sump.

Let's face it, oil companies must remain competitive and they're not prone to pricing themselves out of the mainstream market with the addition of high-performance supplements for occasional flyers. Their oils protect the engine reasonably well in aeroplanes flown regularly, but can you afford to leave your expensive engine unattended for weeks or even months while the oil absorbs moisture through the crankcase breather to attack your camshaft, lifters and crankshaft? I certainly can't.
