Fuselage trimming around the rudder base
First I drilled the VS bottom attach holes to AN3 size for temporary fasteners - they'll be drilled up to AN4 later. I then trimmed the trailing edge of the VS to proper dimensions, before temporarily installed the rudder to measure how much to trim off the fuselage so the rudder can swing through its full travel. I trimmed and polished the cut edges. I will probably need to trim slightly more off, but need to install the stops first to work out where full travel is.
