Tonight James and I measured, drilled and installed the firewall passthrough and cabin heat actuator cable. Firewall forward clearances are tight, but I'll probably make a bracket to support the cable shroud as stress relief for the stainless tang, which might otherwise work harden and break off when exposed to constant vibration. I will also need a heat deflector shield to prevent the hot air spill from cooking the right magneto, but I do plan to duct cold air to each magneto to prevent premature deterioration of the nylon timing gears ... with space available being one of the many advantages of dispensing with the vacuum system!
