Today I re-mapped and trial cut new doubler plates for the inspection cover out of 0.125" material (thick enough for a full machine countersink). I'm still having trouble keeping track on the Y-axis, which is allowing the bit to chatter and run off-track, but fine-tuning is working, albeit time consuming and very frustrating. The Z-axis also cut too deep on first pass, which tells my that I need to work on my Z-zeroĆng technique, but I found profiling works better with a 1.5mm bit than the 3mm.
