The later numbered Rockets have 1" rather than 3/4" main longerons, so I had been contemplating how to add some strength to the upper longerons that support most of wing and engine tension G-loads. I need to do this before riveting the canopy rails in place, so I began fabricating a 1" wide 0.063" doubler all the way from the canopy bow, over the #4 wing spar bulkhead to the firewall on each side. This required disassembling the instrument panel bulkhead, but it will be worth the effort.
There wasn't enough clearance to back drill through the engine bracket holes (even with the Sioux 90 degree air angle drill and a short 3/16" bit), so I had to painstakingly file the small holes out to match the existing engine bracket and longeron holes.
