I finished trimming the front of the windshield and marked the bootcowl crescent to final size. I then made the doubler, polished the edges, sanded the front 1" of the crescent with 60 grit (to help the windshield epoxy grip later on), Alumiprep'd, Alondined, primed and riveted the parts together. I also added nutplates for the GPS antenna.
Everything aligns pretty well, but I'll wait until I remake the bootcowl itself before drilling for nutplates around the perimeter.
Later I'll drill a series of holes for the windshield defrost (a requirement for IFR certification) and mould a carbon fibre hot air duct to match the under-side of the crescent.
