Tonight James and I made a 0.040" 7075-T6 doubler for the NACA scoop to keep the skin flat. The scoop is about 1" shorter than normal ... other Rocket builders say this is more than enough scoop and keeps the hole in the skin as small as possible.
I'll rivet it to the skin first using offset rivet holes, then set the carbon fibre scoop in ProSeal over the top and set the remaining (longer) rivets through the carbon as well.
