Tonight I slaved over a hot stove melting bees wax. I want to mount the NACA scoop low on the fuselage where there is higher air pressure and bring the air up a low profile duct to the punkah louver. That way the SCAT tube isn't visible from the cockpit and won't interfere with my my leg.
I cut the NACA scoop in two and moulded the two ends separately, then made a large piece which I pressed into place while the wax was still warm. Tomorrow I will cut the wax, join the parts and perhaps glass up a layer of carbon fibre.
[This idea didn't work because the wax curved out of shape as it cooled, so I will use clay instead].
