Tonight I started fabricating the cowl hinge pin fixtures. I need these in place before I can final trim the aft edge of the cowl with the prop and spinner in place. I TIG welded the pin to the cover plate and gently bent it into alignment with the outer surface of the cowl. It fits well and is easy to install. I will add another screw further forward, because there is nothing holding the top and bottom halves of the cowl together at this point.
