Today I prepared and bonded the filter carrier to the intake scoop. There was quite a gap to contend with, so I made a thick bog of epoxy and Aerosil to fill the gap. I taped the box down, then clecoed the scoop back under the cowl to make sure everything sets to the right shape. When this is set, I'll begin the tedious task of filling the space with expanding foam, drilling the expansion holes, shaping, glassing and smoothing the scoop passage into the air filter.
When I've finished the cowl pin attach plates, I can fit the cowl behind the prop, measure and trim at the attach flange, then align and bond the intake cone to line up with the throat of the fuel servo.
